Wintertime in Cape May

Fighting the winter doldrums while dreaming of a time when the weather is warm and the town is bustling again? We can’t change the weather, but over the past decade or so, Cape May has truly become a year round town with plenty of cold-season options and things to do for the whole family. We are officially past the midpoint of winter, many of the restaurants and businesses at the beach are reopening, and the start of the summer season is just double digits away! Sure, the spring season offers lots of warmer weather events, but there are still tons of events happening now.

Even in the off season the Jersey Shore offers so much to do. Coming up on February 27th, is the Atlantic City Boat Show-find the boat of your dreams and everything to go with it…or just make a day of the event and browse around the assortment of outdoor gear and on-site activities. The Women in Business Conference is on March 7th, women can enhance your personal and professional skills, feel empowered and inspired, and celebrate Women’s History Month. Want to have a few good laughs AND support a great cause? The Annual Comedy Night Social from the Police Athletic League of Cape May County takes place at Cape May Convention Hall on Friday, March 15th.

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up there’s a few events that will get you feeling festive. The 3rd Annual Carney’s St. Paddy’s Plunge and 5K Run is on March 16th at 9am, benefiting the Cape May Food Closet. Participate in the plunge and run, or just cheer on your friends! There will be bag pipes, face paint, balloonists, magicians, live music, DJ’s, and St. Paddy’s themed food. Not in the plunging or running mood? The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration & Parade on March 16th will begin on the front steps of the North Wildwood City Hall at 11:30am.

Spring Break is only a month away and Cape May is a great family-friendly getaway option and we have plenty of beach-block and beautiful rentals available. Spending Spring Break in Cape May gives you all the fun without breaking the bank with plane tickets. There’s plenty of restaurants open, fun kids’ activities, and best of all you get to be at the beach!

If you’re looking to make Cape May vacations a little bit more permanent, this late winter season is a great time to buy a home. The inventory of homes for sale has gone up 6.4% from January, which means it is a buyers’ market. So next time you head down to America’s Oldest Seaside Resort, let us know if we can arm you with a list of homes for sale that fit your criteria. We can email a list right to your inbox so you can go by them during your visit. Give us a call at 609.884.4242 to get one step closer to making your dream home a reality in Cape May.
